Since I was back home with a new leg, some facial alterations, and time on my hands, I might as well help out my sister. Showing a potential buyer around some of New Zealand’s quirkier ecotourism sites, having a few adrenaline-fueled adventures? Fine. It wasn’t like I’d never been camping, unlike the walking tornado that was Miss Karen Sinclair. Unfortunately, Karen had never heard of the phrase “let me get that”, let alone “we don’t have time”. She’d definitely never heard “there’s no more room in the car”.

And then there was the sexual frustration.

I think that this is one of my favorite books by Rosalind James and I have to admit that I already read it twice, but hearing it has still been absolutely exiting and captivating! And that says something about the story itself as well as the speakers - it's just perfect. I love the characters and can relate to them incredibly well although I'm nothing like them. The story just draws you in and both narrators are doing a fabulous job with transporting all the emotions!

Ich habe die Serie davor (bislang noch) nicht gelesen, es war aber auch so gut möglich, ins Buch zu finden. Ich mochte, dass es in Neuseeland spielte. Die Handlung war nicht übermäßig originell, die Hauptpersonen und Atmosphäre angenehm.
Als negativ empfand ich persönlich das ewige gemeinsame Nachdenken über das eigene Leben. Oft dachte ich, die Handlung könnte nun auch mal weitergehen, denn jeder hatte seine Standpunkte, Zweifel und Gedankenspiele wirklich schon langsam mehrfach ausführlich verbalisiert. Ich mochte auch diese langen, teilweise gefesselten Sexszenen nicht so gerne, aber es scheint, dass die Serie, auf der alles basiert, für so etwas bekannt war, wie ich Rezensionen entnahm. Also hätte ich das wohl so erwarten können.
Insgesamt aber eine entspannende Ferienlektüre.
