Kai is a nobody - "poor as dirt" as they'd say in the Martian city of Mazhou. An unremarkable woman in an unremarkable place, statistically average and isolated from those around her. "A recluse among recluses" and a devoted light machinery technician of the ubiquitous Chara Corporation.
This is what made her particularly well suited to the Mivax vaccine study, which was pitched to her by her shrewd and mysterious uncle, Rem Jia. All she had to do was participate as a test subject to receive a whopping total of 12,000 credits. But what's his true agenda? Is he really looking to help Kai, or is he planning to betray his last living relative?
Kai and the Collector is a novelette set in a Martian science fiction universe, incorporating elements of horror, suspense, and even economics into a scientifically accurate setting.
