Der Aussage von Jill Mansell "her best thriller yet..." würde ich zwar nicht vollständig zustimmen, aber die Autorin schreibt spannend mit vielen twist and turns. Sie nimmt verschiedene Perspektiven auf. So z.B. Familie: Nadeeka mit ihren zwei Töchtern, einem ermordeten Liebhaber, Jamie, sowie einem geschiedenen Ehemann. Außerdem den Polizeiapparat und vor allem den verwirrten Attentäter des "new dawn".
Leider hat Richard Armitage erst im letzten Drittel wenig Sprechanteile. Immerhin verleiht er, ausdrucksstark und begabt, dem Attentäter und seinen gestörten Gedanken, überzeugend wie immer, Ausdruck. Sehr spannend gibt er z.B. die Liegestützen Szene im Gefängnis wieder. Der Zuhörer muss definitiv nach Luft schnappen. Sehr gut geschrieben, Frau Mackintosh, grandios gelesen Richard Armitage. Auch die Frauenstimmen sind insgesamt gut gesprochen. Thank you!

The title couldn't have been chosen better. It's not what you think, the plot twists are really inpredictable. Every time I thought I was on to something the story changed completely and my jaw almost dropped to the floor. Great performance by all narrators. There was just one little thing that irked me a bit. If different readers do the voice of the same person there should be an agreement about the kind of dialect and characteristics of the voice they speak.
