Thomas F. Zainea does a good, if ultimativly pointless, job trying to save whatever can be saved from Louis E. Rosas novel. The writing style is absolutely aweful with flat, cliche'd characters whose personality seems to be heavily dependent on their ethnic origin (paraphrased : "hi" said Cptn John Smith,a tall man born in Cuba with Indo-Chinese genetic heritage" ... The bad guy, of course, is Russian ... what else?!), and so much repeated words that one is inclined to donate a thesaurus to the author (paraphrased again "[The russian guy] stopped his video because the beeping was interfering with the sound of the video he was watching. He removed his headset with which he was listening to the video"). The story is also a bunch of Hollywood cliches glued together by technobabble not even worthy of ST-TOS.

Honestly, I really tried to fight my way through it, hoping it would, at some point, get good, or at least less awkward. After one and a half hour I just had to stop. It was really unbearable.

As I said.. too bad about Thomas F.Zainea. He seems to be quite a good reader, but there is only so much a good reader can do when the material is so bad.
