In the Shadows of Promise is an anthology of poetry based on my dreams. I have made love in my dreams, explored new lands, spoken foreign languages, and even experienced life through the eyes of other beings. I have been killed in battle, though I have no real life military experience. It is as if in some dreams I merge into the dreams or lives of others. Some incredibly happy, some terribly sad, some horrific. Some dreams leave me with a sense of purity and innocence.

Call of The Hawk

The climb was easy
Every hold effortless
Every step sound and sure
The mesa smooth and flawless.

I lay naked on the warm stone
The sun completes me
The desert air feeds me.
I avail myself to the galaxy
I vanish in pleasure.

I move past and within stars
Through and beyond countless planets
Colors, flashes of light, aromas, flavors
All in an instant.
I silently and harmlessly pass
Through rock and ice
Oceans and time
Forests and creatures.
I hear only pure sounds
The orchestra of the heavens perhaps
A Mezzo Forte of perfect voices
From baritone to soprano
All in exquisite unity.
A continuous and consistent pleasure.

The call of the hawk wakes me.

This anthology is divided in 6 chapters.
Bealtitudo (bliss)
Cordolium (heartache)
Amor Novus (new love)
Anguista (anguish)
Meliora (for the pursuit of something better)
Cogitato (Meditations and reflections)

I hope to see you in my dream.
