Die letzten Bücher waren eh nur noch ein Aufwasch der alten Geschichten... Aber jetzt auch noch ein neuer Sprecher, bei dem sich alle Personen anhören wie in einem schlechten Piratenfilm. Hierzu ist jetzt Ende für mich in der Bolitho Serie.

The book seems to have been written by several different people who did not consult with each other. The story has too many arks which do not get concluded, the characters are bland and quite frankly, nothing really ever happens. The interaction between the captain, the surgeon and the common sailors are just not laughable. The royal navy was not one big happy family where every jack tar or warrant officer contradicted his superior officers.
If you like Foresters Hornblower, you will be sorely disappointed with this book.
