Über diesen Titel

Despite Agile's dominance in software development, 81% of UK and 89% of US business leaders are concerned about the timely delivery of projects. The success rates for transformation initiatives are alarming, with 96% of Agile transformations and 70% of digital transformations failing. Just 10% of companies that enter restructuring survive the process. Personal transformation success is also exceedingly rare, with only 7.5% of smokers successfully quitting despite 55% attempting to quit each year and just 1.8% of obese individuals maintaining a modest 5% weight loss over five years.

Enter “Impact Engineering,” a groundbreaking methodology that reduces Agile project failure rates by an astounding 650% and offers psychologically proven strategies for successful personal and business transformations. Presented in the engaging format of a business novel, this book uses extensive case studies and rigorous research to revolutionise the approach to failing projects and catalyse meaningful change.

I recently finished listening to the audiobook on impact engineering and found it to be an interesting, yet somewhat flawed resource. The content is comprehensive and the use of storytelling to convey methodical processes is a creative approach. However, it most of the time feels overdone.

The female narrator’s clear and engaging voice made the material more enjoyable and easier to follow. She did an excellent job bringing the text to life. Unfortunately, the characters, portrayed as blunt businessman stereotypes, detracted from the overall experience. They constantly recited studies in an obscure way, which made the narrative feel tedious at times.

While the idea of telling a 2-hour long anecdote to deliver the message is intriguing, the unlikable characters and the repetitive nature of their dialogue made it less effective. Despite these drawbacks, the audiobook still offers valuable insights and is structured in a way that builds on each chapter, gradually increasing the complexity of the topics discussed.

Overall, I would recommend this audiobook to those interested in the value of Requirement Egineering, with the caveat that the storytelling approach may not appeal to everyone. My rating is 3 out of 5 stars, due to the unengaging characters and the overly drawn-out narrative. In addition to this the agile approach represented by Scrum and the agile manifesto is portrayed in a very tedious way to fit the results of the studies the conclusion is based on. In the End the main problem of the book seems to be some kind of a marketing gag of a Consulting Company, instead of being a source on knowledge or advice.

interesting didactic approach to convey one-sided message
