DC's most vulnerable work to date, where he doesn't hide him behind a water-tight aesthetic object. The first chapter was very difficult for me to stomach (TW - everything) but it's worth pushing through for the rest. I thought the narrator did a fabulous job too, voicing the many strange characters that pop up in the book in a funny and engaging way.
