In her own way, each woman will aid Hackberry in his quest to reconcile with Ishmael, to vanquish their enemies, and to return the Grail to its rightful place.
House of the Rising Sun is James Lee Burke's finest novel to date and a thrilling entry into the Holland family saga that continued most recently with Wayfaring Stranger, which the New York Times Book Review described as "saturated with the romance of the past while mournfully attuned to the unholy menace of the present".

Was genau hätte man an House of the Rising Sun noch verbessern können?
Die Handlung war leider aus meiner Perspektive ziemlich flach, es passierte lange nichts bzw. nichts, das aus meiner Sicht für die Handlung sonderlich relevant war. Mit den Charakteren konnte ich mich wenig bis gar nicht identifizieren - selbst die Hauptcharaktere waren für mich weit von sympathisch oder sogar interessant entfernt. Insgesamt für mich leider sehr wenig Hörvergnügen :( Auch die Handlung selbst hatte sehr wenig mit dem von mir erwarteten Kelch-Hintergrund zu tun, dieser spielte nicht mehr als eine Nebenrolle.Was mochten Sie nicht am Vortrag von Will Patton?
Der Sprecher war in Ordnung, hat die Figuren gut rüber gebracht, obwohl es meiner Meinung nach andere Interpreten gibt, die noch ein wesentlich breiteres Repertoire abdeckenWelche Szenen dieses Hörbuchs hätten Sie als Regisseur gestrichen?
Mindestens die ersten 50% des Buches leider. Ich fand die Story hat eigentlich erst nach der Hälfte richtig angefangen - davor war mehr oder weniger relevantes und für mich wenig fesselndes Vorgeplänkel.Langatmig und wenig fesselnd
