The past is in the past . . . or is it? Should the past be left undisturbed?
Coming to terms with her new identity, Emily flies out to Texas to meet her mother, Angela, for the first time since she was a baby, a mother she does not know or remember. On death row in a Texas prison, Angela does not have long left to live, the clock inevitably ticking away, eroding what little time they have left together to reunite and for Emily to find out the truth.
While in Houston, Emily meets with a successful author, a man of some standing and specialisms. Channeling his own experience and needs, he wants to write her story and, at the same time, help her to live with the startling revelations that have recently upturned her life.
The journey of emerging realization and truth takes their trust to its limit, with killing becoming a necessity for justice to be served. Numerous twists and turns race the listener towards a reckoning long overdue.
In whose hands would you entrust your freedom and your life?
