Here all the hurt was caused by one unexplained trip without a good bye. After the protagonist found out that the other party was still interested the 1st and only question should've been "If you had feelings for me, why did you leave without a good bye and an explanation?", but that question never came.
Instead we had the protagonist slowly falling for the love interest again even though that love interest is behaving like a smug abuser who knows that it's victim will come back even after hurting her really bad.
And that this abuser love interest tries to get her with love magic is not romantic, it's creepy and just shows what a weak personality she has, since she isn't even gown up enough to stand before the person she claims to love and just say "I am sorry for all the pain I caused you, please give me another chance".
How can I root for them and enjoy the story when I really dispise the person the protagonist is supposed to fall in love with.
Another one of those.
