Der Sprecher Sam Woolf hat eine ausgesprochen saubere und klare Aussprache und versteht, die in dem Text verwobenen Emotionen perfekt zum Ausdruck zu bringen.
Nein, hier geht es nicht direkt um Geistererzählungen, vielmehr sollte man mit den Kanon der Klassiker, die hier angesprochen werden, vertraut sein, denn sonst entgeht einem doch einiges an Verständnis.
Es geht darum, wie der Autor durch Erinnerungen an seine Kindheit und Jugend und die Reflexion über Gelesenes und Gesehenes seine Realität - den Tod beider Eltern und des Bruders - zu verarbeiten versucht.
