Before he was the Father of our Country, before he led the Continental Army, before he became America's first president — George Washington was a little boy with a brand new hatchet and a decision to make.
This beloved American legend comes alive in a vibrant retelling perfect for young listeners ages 4–8. When young George's enthusiasm with his new hatchet leads him to chop down his father's prized cherry tree — a tree that had crossed the storm-tossed Atlantic all the way from England — he must make a choice. Will he tell the truth, or will he hide what he has done?
A timeless story of honesty, courage, and character, George Washington and the Cherry Tree is the perfect introduction to America's founding fathers for the next generation.
