The fight for the future begins. It's been a century of peace since Earth became a colony of an alien race with far reaches into the galaxy. Left in the hands of terrorists who have more uses for him dead than alive, the fate of Earth rests on Donovan's survival. Because if Sapience kills him, it could spark another intergalactic war. An absolutely engrossing, gritty, and fast-paced story that is as much about love, family, self-doubt and belonging as it is about aliens, terrorists and soldiers. Fonda Lee's characters are as morally grey as they are well-rounded and motivated. The romance sub-plot, while being predictable in its existence takes a couple of satisfying turns. So, strap in for realistically complex conflicts, action-packed fight scenes, and questions of love and loyalty. Delivered by a narrator who absolutely nails his job.
