Über diesen Titel

Drake McGinn turned his back on hockey after the league betrayed him. Will the Titans be his chance to clear his name and take back the career he once loved?

After I made the decision to divorce, my ex-wife set out on a smear campaign against me, telling anyone who would listen that I was betting on hockey and throwing games. It wasn’t surprising that my ex told the lies, but the fact that the media, league, and fans chose to believe her baseless claims was unforgivable. I walked away from it all and never looked back.

Having settled into life as a single dad to three boys, I’m content. I have more money than I could ever need, and plenty of time to do whatever I want, whenever I want, and whoever I want. So when Brienne Norcross, the team owner for the Pittsburgh Titans, shows up at my house with a job offer, I have no problem turning her down. But the no-nonsense billionaire, with sinfully seductive red lips and killer heels that would look hot as hell thrown over my shoulders, won’t take “no” for an answer.

Now I need to find balance between hockey, my boys, and the explosive chemistry Brienne and I can no longer deny. A cast-off hockey player and the league’s only female team owner? I can think of a million reasons why it could never work but can’t bring myself to care about a single one of them. Game on.

After meeting Drake in Atlas, Lucky, and Penn, I couldn’t wait to finally dive into his story with Brienne—and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! These two strong personalities collide in a way that’s nothing short of explosive.

Drake is a Viking-lookalike, Harley-riding, broody single dad of three boys with a give-zero-f*cks attitude. He’s rough around the edges, doesn’t always bother with manners or filters, but that’s exactly what makes him so compelling. Underneath all that is a man deeply hurt by betrayal, fiercely protective of his kids, and scared to let anyone get too close again.

Enter Brienne—a strong, confident, and sexy woman thriving in a male-dominated world. I loved her character. She owns her power, her needs, and her sexuality without ever coming off cold or arrogant. Strong FMCs can be a gamble—sometimes written as too harsh or unlikable—but Brienne walks the line perfectly, bringing both strength and vulnerability to the table.

Their relationship begins as a strictly physical, no-strings-attached situation, which added a delicious layer of tension and heat. But as feelings sneak in, they both handle it with refreshing emotional maturity. One thing I especially loved was the reverse age gap—Brienne is 33, Drake is 28—and it’s never made into a “thing.” It just works. Both characters act like grown adults, communicate openly, and there’s no unnecessary drama or miscommunication, which was such a relief.

The premise itself is great: Drake, kicked out of the league due to false allegations, is brought back by Brienne—team owner and total boss—for a second shot. It gave their dynamic a great foundation of power balance, tension, and trust.

💋 The spice starts early and pops up regularly and not always described in detail, and never overshadows the story. It’s a meaningful part of their evolving connection in the story, handled in a way that supports rather than dominates the plot.

🎙️ Narration:
Aiden Snow was perfectly cast—his deep, gravelly voice matched Drake’s intense, broody energy flawlessly. Maxine Mitchell was a pleasant surprise—her portrayal of Brienne’s boldness and confidence hit just right. I’ve sometimes struggled with her portraying overly whiny or insecure FMCs, but she really shone here, bringing out Brienne’s strength and wit with ease. The narration elevated the story and made the characters feel even more real.
