The voice acting was excellent throughout. Richard Armitage, in particular, really brings the villain to life with his warm voice. If this story were ever to be adapted for the screen, he would undoubtedly be cast in the principal role. On the internet, I often encounter handsome, charming men who appear to be successful in their careers. I have started to become quite skilled at spotting the scammers among these so-called "dream men". But now I wonder if I could react the same way. What if this supposed dream man were standing right in front of me? What if he were telling me about a connection to someone close to me? I'm really unsure how I would deal with that.
I found the story incredibly exciting and well told, and, of course, excellently read.

The speakers are amazing! This book is so addictive! And if there is ever a movie made Richard Armitage should play the main character! I would litteraly listen to any books he reads! Loved it sooooo much!

I usually like Lisa Jewell’s books and was waiting for this to come out. But the plot is very transparent and without any surprises. It lost me at some point.

I could not stop listening to this audiobook! The story is so gripping and infuriating tbh and I loved following the story through the different povs.

I enjoyed other books by Lisa Jewell but this one was a huge disappointment. Incredibly predictable (apart from an insignificant twist at the end, one knows the entire story about half way through), unrealistic to a ridiculous degree (a man spends decades in the same area after committing countless crimes and is never found?? a murdered body can't be identified in 2025 even though she was reported missing- DNA??!!) and frustrating in the way almost every woman is portrayed as a naive dimwit melting away at the sight of handsome man. The performance by the readers was excellent but the story is an insult to anyone with half a brain. waste of money
