I read this book soon after it came out - because I have a deep love for Montana, and, living in Europe by then, I was a bit homesick for the West. It introduced me to the music of Mary Chapin Carpenter, who immediately became a favourite (I think I have all her CDs), and Vince Gill. It's well-written twists and turns against the beautifully-described surroundings also became a favourite. This narration is astoundingly well done - I was shocked and delighted at how close the voice characterizations fit how I had imagined them to sound. The story is now dated, of course, being from the early 90s when the Internet was in its infancy, and filled with macho attitudes I have little tolerance for (yet I know they are still around, sigh). All in all, a welcome addition to my collection.
