Halten Sie die Hörbuch-Ausgabe von Dark Cathedral für besser als das Buch?

Being a fan of Freda Warrington, I tried to track down all her books after reading the Blood Wine sequence. Sadly enough, the books are out of print and very expensive to buy used, so I couldn't afford to buy them. When I found that all her novels were published as audiobooks on audible, I was overjoyed! Freda Warrington is one of my absolute favorite gothic fantasy writers, and I would recommend her to anyone who likes fantasy.

Was mochten Sie an der Handlung am liebsten?

The story is already described in the synopsis, so I'll stick with my opinion: "Dark Cathedral" gives a captivating insight into the psychological workings of religious sects and the resulting hatred and prejudice against anyone "other". None of the characters are perfect, and I especially liked the fact that the author at no point criticised Christianity as a belief, but showed empathically that the way some people live their religion is hateful and wrong.
The characters are fleshed out and three dimensional, and I could picture them in front of me while listening to the audiobook.
I think that the empathic reading by Nicholas Camm only added to the layered atmosphere of mystery in the book, and I greaty enjoyed the experience.
All in all, it was a gread "read" and I am already listening to the next book in the series!
