I had such high hopes! But where’s the character development? It was relatively smooth sailing all the way through. Lanie’s initial “hatred” of Noa was presented with the subtlety of a roaring lawnmower. Everything was predictable and boring. I loooove romance, so I’m the first to admit that the genre and it’s tropes comes with a certain level of predictability. But still. I kept waiting for something to happen, but the story felt flat. As did the characters. Bummer!
