Inhaltsangabe

The wildly popular YouTube personality and author of the New York Times best seller My Drunk Kitchen is back! This time she's stirring up memories and tales from her past.

By combing through the journals that Hannah has kept for much of her life, this collection of narrative essays delivers a fuller picture of her life, her experiences, and the things she's figured out about family, faith, love, sexuality, self-worth, friendship, and fame.

Revealing what makes Hannah tick, this sometimes cringeworthy, poignant collection of stories is sure to deliver plenty of Hannah's wit and wisdom - and hopefully encourage you to try your hand at her patented brand of reckless optimism.

Personal note:

Hello, my darlings! I am incredibly pleased to present Buffering: Unshared Tales of a Life Fully Loaded!

As a big fan of memoirs, I wanted to try my hand at writing about the events of my life that deserve a little more consideration than can be accomplished in 140 characters or a six-minute vlog. Now on the cusp of turning 30, I'm ready to expose some parts of my life that I haven't shared before. Before, it was all about privacy, process, and time. And now the time has come! I'm ready to put myself out there for you.

I'm a little nervous about all these vulnerable words going into the world, these tales about my love life, the wrestling I've done with faith, how I feel about sex and my family and myself. I've had a lot of trials, a lot of errors, but also a lot of passion. Here's the thing: I've always found comfort in the stories shared by others, so I hope my stories, now that I feel ready to tell them, will bring you some comfort, too.

And when you listen to this book, please remember: Buffering is just the time it takes to process.

Enjoy!

Love,
Hannah

Raw, deep, personal, & funny.

I've been following Hannah's YouTube channel for years, and have always admired her positive attitude & open minded views, as well as her role in the LGBTQ+ community. I'm impressed by how much she dares to share in Buffering, hoping to help others through her experiences while, at the same time, making them laugh.

This book is extremely personal and relevant, and it gives off the feeling of being something Hannah needed to say, to share, and not just a collection of funny anecdotes from an internet celebrity put together to bring in some cash, which I cannot appreciate enough. I'm often weary of reading/listening to memoirs of this kind, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out there's a lot of substance and heart in here, mixed in with some jokes here and there, and not the other way around.

A Young Cheryl Strayed

Hannah Hart is a beautiful writer (and narrater!) whose biography may well be compared to Cheryl Strayed's Wild. While heartbreaking and soulaching throughout, Hannah draws strength from her tumultuous past and gives hope to the reader who might be dealing with difficult situations as well. The stress is so often on the positive side, on the importance to figure yourself out, on building meaningful relationships with those around you and on not loosing hope in the bleakest of times. Furthermore, the book offers some strong and we'll researched social and political criticism of the US-Wellfare and Healthcare services. All in all, I believe this book is wonderful for everyone who wants to read a story about self-discovery (and the strength in that) and what it means to be fighting while the whole world is fighting back. Definitely not only for Hannah Hart fans but for everyone.
Thanks for sharing your story, Hannah.

Much more than expected. Potentially life changing

This book caught my attention as no other (I tend to drift away with my thoughts while listening to an audio book, which is not good, since I need to rewind quite often, if I want to follow the whole story).

I thought I knew already a fair amount about Hannah, stalking her on the internet, but this book revealed so much more than I expected.

Hannah takes us on her journey of ups and downs, laughter and sorrow, strengh and weakness, to learn about the power within ourselves as we follow right beside her through the lessons life throws at us. I laughed, almost cried and I learned a lot. Hannah has a big heart. So should anyone. I will try.

Plus her story has the power of helping a lot of struggling people. I thought, I was struggling. But hearing her story, my problems seem so much smaller and the struggles way easier.

The end though.. This book has a purpose beyond my imagination.

Thank you Hannah, for going out there and sharing your precious funny and frightful memories with us. Thank you.

Inspiring

Woow, this book is amazing. The content of this book is quite sad, but Hannah writes and reads it really good. She doesn't want pity, she just want to share her story and help people, make them happy. I truely gained a new respect for her! I loved watching her videos since literally years, but I've never known the struggle she had gone through. Actually just lissen to the foreword, it says it all. I absolutly recommend this book and hope you enjoy it.

Hannah hautnah

"Selflessly, I want you to feel not alone" und "I like to make People happy" sind zwei Absichten die Hannah äußert und beides schafft sie fantastisch.

Heartbreakingly heartwarming with a call to action

A look into the life, history and heart of an amazing individual! I recommend for other health professionals. Weirdly reminded me of a case study.
Well written, well read.

Follow your Harto, dude...

Take "MyDrunkKitchen", replace alcohol with story of my life & keep the food for thought as well as the advisory part and you get a Hart warming and bluntly honest behind the scenes look into Hannas Heart.

A compelling story of a life and the feelings & decisions that come with having a loved one and yourself, more or less as a result of it, fight against, and, in the process, learn to fight with, mental illnesses.

Even if you're not touched by the subject of this book, the underlying food for thought is for everyone to enjoy and to take part in.

Don't be shy, it's worth your time.
