Nantucket, Massachusetts: Nine-year-old Scotty Sullivan dashes out the back door of his family's beach home, his dog, Larry, bounding beside him.
They reach the shore, barks and joyful laughter swallowed by the crashing waves. Suddenly, an odd-looking object in the sky draws closer. As dark clouds loom, a flicker of unease crosses Scotty’s face. Before he can react, an eerie glow surrounds both boy and dog. In an instant, they vanish without a trace.
Now aboard an alien ship, Scotty faces a reality far from home. The walls breathe, the corridors pulse and his fear deepens. His abduction was no accident—Scotty and other children have been chosen for a critical purpose, molded by rigorous conditioning in a harsh, otherworldly Lord of the Flies scenario. As the true threat to Earth reveals itself, Scotty must prepare to confront a destiny that intertwines his fate with the survival of his home planet.
Sixteen years later, Scotty returns to the same Nantucket beach, facing a daunting challenge that could alter the course of humanity.
