The story is fine, nothing too impressive but a nice quick listen with likable characters.

The thing is.... The narrator has a lisp. I listen to books at 1.8 / 2.0 which helps but when you listen to it at normal speed, it is almost unbearable. I liked her way of telling the story but the lisp can be irritating.

Although there are mystery elements, I did not find them particularly compelling. To my mind too much was overexplained, slowing the narrative down and dragging the story out. Despite being set in a mortuary, the story is neither really dark nor gritty, at times I was a bit bored to be honest. I doubt that I will follow the other instalments, there are too many other books out there which I find more interesting.
