I bought this audio book because I‘m currently working on a scientific paper about how the moon landing in 1969 affected the science fiction of it‘s time. The title seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. What could go wrong after all? Oh well, a lot went wrong.
This is not a consistent story. This is a fever dream with a weak main plot to justify over 60 chapters full of weird sex scenes, gay rape and sodomy. Every woman in this story is a soulless being which is just designed to have mechanical sex with. I am scarred for life by the images of the male protagonists raping each other multiple times.
I really don’t understand why and how this abomination of a story is considered as a science fiction classic. It‘s nothing more than a collection of soul scarring sex scenes and uninteresting dialogues.

I will never be the same after listening to this
