David does not deny his fear or pretend to be stronger than he feels; he brings his fear honestly to God. His words, “When I am afraid, I will trust in You,” show that courage can begin while fear is still present. David remembers that God sees his wandering, treasures his tears, and remains faithful to His Word. Trust does not minimize the danger—it places the danger under God’s care. This episode invites us to name what frightens us and take our next faithful step while trusting the God who sees us.
