What happens when faith, hip-hop, trap, EDM and experimental production all meet in the same artist?Welcome to the Rawrrzone sits down with Nashville-born artist and producer IDEGO (pronounced “id-ego”), an emerging voice creating music rooted in his Christian faith without wanting the sound itself to be limited by a genre box.IDEGO's 2026 run has included “PRAY SOME,” “SHOCKING!,” “CALLING OUT” featuring Kins, recognition as part of Rapzilla's 2026 Freshman Class, and the July release of his five-track, self-titled debut EP. The project incorporates Christian themes with contemporary hip-hop, trap, phonk and EDM influences. But this conversation goes deeper than the music. We talk about growing up around the Christian music business in Nashville, beginning as a producer, studying Commercial Music at Samford University, discovering his voice as an artist, the psychology behind the name IDEGO, creating music as a form of worship, and whether Christian artists can reach mainstream audiences without compromising what they believe. His original press materials describe “PRAY SOME” as a record about remaining prayerful through life's adversity and trace the name IDEGO to the psychological concepts of the id and ego. This is a conversation about faith, identity, purpose, artistry and what happens when you refuse to believe meaningful music has to sacrifice great production.Follow Idego on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/theidego/📻 Missed the live show?
