A tiny owl - living in an enormous tree - embarks on an unforgettable journey. She learns about home, friendship, and begins to notice the world around her. Strigo has always believed her enormous spruce tree will be there forever. From its deepest roots to its highest branches, the tree is an entire world: home to owls and squirrels, birds and beetles, bats, caterpillars and countless tiny creatures. They live at different heights, eat different foods and keep very different hours. Some barely know the others are there. But they all share one home. Then, one November morning, everything changes. The great spruce is cut down and carried hundreds of miles away. Hidden among its branches, Strigo and some of her neighbours are swept on an extraordinary journey from their quiet forest to the heart of New York City, where their tree is transformed into the dazzling Rockefeller Christmas Tree. Among the thousands of people who come to see it is a little girl called Aves. She looks up and notices something no one else has seen. Inspired by the remarkable true story of the tiny owl discovered in the Rockefeller Centre Christmas Tree in 2020, The Remembering Tree is a warm, funny and hopeful chapter book about friendship, wildlife, belonging and the extraordinary communities that can exist right beneath our noses. Written and narrated by Julie Whitney, The Remembering Tree has the warmth of a grandmother sharing a story with her grandchildren.Drawing on her experience as a teacher and her love of storytelling, Julie brings Strigo and her extraordinary companions to life in a gentle, expressive narration filled with humour, curiosity and heart.Perfect for bedtime listening, family journeys or shared enjoyment in the classroom, this is a story that invites children and adults alike to discover the wonder of the natural world - and to consider what can happen when we take the time to notice one another.©2026 Julie Whitney (P)2026 Julie Whitney Action & Abenteuer Feiertage & Festlichkeiten Literatur & Belletristik Tiere Weihnachten
