Sunny binds the Dream Blade to Nephis's soul using her flames, the Winter Beast's icy heart, his own blood, and a spellweave meant to grow and learn alongside her. His incarnations collapse one by one under the strain, and the payoff, Nephis waking with the Blessing in her hand and smiling like a girl with a new toy, genuinely warmed me. The enchantment breakdown, especially the sacrificial edge that grows stronger the more she burns her own soul, is chilling in the best way. Then the episode pivots hard into war. Rain's rearguard centuria is down to forty-two survivors, the Crossing Strongholds blow their own bridges, and Gilead's knights get erased one by one by something unseen in the ash, losing half their number without ever seeing the enemy. Revel and Moonveil plot to kill seven Saints and take a Citadel in the dark, and by the end Kai realizes something is deeply wrong with Morgan, who quietly admits she is not living this day for the second time. Effie's reaction had me staring at my screen.
