(0:06) And me, Les Roberts, in St Helens, United Kingdom. (0:10) This weekly podcast is for anyone and everyone who would like to know more about the fascinating (0:14) world of hypnosis and the benefits that it offers.I'm a clinical hypnotherapist and (0:22) specialist in working with children. And I'm a retired medical doctor (0:26) and consultant hypnotist. We are Two Hypnotherapists Talking.(0:33) So let's get on with the episode. (0:36) So season 10, episode 3 already. We're storming through this, aren't we, Denise? (0:43) We are indeed, my dear.Even taking vacations while we do it. (0:47) I was away last week. It was wonderful.(0:50) I'm away next weekend. I'm going up to Hull to see Sheila, Sheila Granger. (0:56) Yeah, very nice.We were hoping, we went last weekend just for a long weekend. (1:01) This weekend is our bank holiday, Monday. So Ben and Emily have moved to outside Cleveland, (1:09) and we expected to go see them. But I had a conversation with him at the end of his (1:14) first day at work, and he said it's going to take more while before he's really (1:18) organised. So that's fine. We will see him before the end of the month.(1:21) Because by October, the weather could be bad. They get a lot of snow. (1:25) Yeah, yeah.So what have you been up to? What have you been up to? (1:28) Well, just that. Just relaxing around, you know, watching horses and other wildlife, (1:34) a lot of deer around there. It was very nice. And, you know, just trying to get my business (1:40) moving along. I've been writing this month about medical and dental issues. (1:47) I think people tend to forget, and actually a lot of dentists (1:51) have been trained in hypnosis to some degree. And they're very open to it. So I'm going to start (1:57) reaching out to the dentists around here. Yeah, my dentist is quite open to it.I've (2:02) been for an emergency appointment this morning. So he's been very, very open to it. And he just (2:10) says, don't look into my eyes, you know, as a joke. But yeah, he's asked me to put some stuff (2:15) together. So I'm going to put some stuff together. It's more for the children. So yeah, that's very (2:21) helpful. We get children to not be afraid of the dentist. Yeah. You know, we had a lot of dental (2:26) problems later on. Well, yes. Yeah.I mean, I'm not very keen. I don't get excited thinking I'm (2:32) going to the dentist, but it doesn't bother me because he's a very, very good dentist and very (2:38) empathetic over, you know, needles and things like that. Yeah. And once they say, do you need (2:44) to take a beat? And that's usually all it is. You just kind of screw your courage to the sticking (2:50) post. Yeah.I think he's very good because he treats adults like he does the children. So he (2:58) actually, he actually puts like the numbing stuff on your gums before he gives you the (3:04) needle. And why not? He's so good.He is. He is. Yeah. But yeah, you're right. I think, I think (3:11) dentists and we've discussed it before, haven't we? About medical doctors and everything. They (3:16) should all have some kind of training in hypnosis. If not actually do it themselves, at least to know (3:23) enough about it to be able to use it. It is so frustrating that it's still all these hundreds (3:29) and thousands of years it's been around. So what do you plan on targeting like dentists in your (3:38) area too? Yeah, I will probably reach out to them because I can see I'm right next door.I don't (3:45) know how many we've got, but I think I can throw my stone at five different offices just in this (3:49) round here. So there's a lot. And we've certainly got lots of dentists and I'm very close to the (3:55) hospital. So I might put together a talk. Yeah, no, that'd be good that wouldn't it? That'd be (4:00) very, very good. Yeah. It's all about education, isn't it? And whilst I'm thinking, having this (4:06) brainstorm while we're talking, I think actually I could probably reach out because they do (4:11) adult education, if you will, you know, talk to the importance of the pap smear, (4:16) the importance of the, you know, that stuff. I'm just going to put in my leaflet together, (4:20) go in and have a chat with him and just see where that gets me. So we'll have to see, (4:26) even if it's just to come in and do a talk with the staff or I'm quite open to quite a lot of (4:33) things with him.So that's good. Yeah. Talking to the staff is nice also because you can also (4:38) remind them they themselves are patients at multiple countries and it can be really useful.(4:46) I have seen quite a few children who have had their parents pin them down where they've been (4:55) having inoculations or vaccinations or ...
