A locked gate, a two-hundred-pound oak dining table set perfectly on a deck, and a sealed mason jar with a single three-line note signed only "P"-all left on a vacant Pelham County property with no visible way in or out. How did a family heirloom appear on a closed lot, and why was the gate padlocked from the inside afterward?
In this episode, we follow the sequence of events beginning the morning of July 8, 2019, when a septic worker discovered the arranged scene, and we hear how the homeowner, a deputy, and a realtor each recognized details that shifted the case-raising the question of who placed the table and who left the apologetic note.
Person: Tammy Harrison
Date: July 8, 2019
Location: 412 Colwell Drive, Pelham County
Person: Deputy Angela Ferris
Person: Iris Huang
- A septic worker, Scott Burns, arrived at 7:45 AM and stood watching the scene for nearly four minutes without touching anything.
- The oak table weighed approximately two hundred pounds and was centered on the deck with six chairs whose rungs were aligned parallel to the deck planks.
- The rear gate was secured with a combination padlock that was locked from the inside and the sliding glass door and windows showed no signs of forced entry.
- Inside a sealed mason jar on the table was a folded note reading, "I didn't know where else to put it. I'm sorry about everything. - P."
- Tammy Harrison had walked through the house roughly twelve times during purchase and recognized the table as a family piece bought at an estate sale in the early 1980s and later owned by her brother Greg.
