Gunsmoke, “Billy the Kid,” originally broadcast April 26, 1952, is episode 1 of the CBS Radio Network western series. Written by Walter B. Newman and produced and directed by Norman Macdonnell, it stars William Conrad as U.S. Marshal Matt Dillon.

When Clay Richards is murdered in Dodge City, suspicion falls on a Dutchman and an angry crowd begins to demand its own brand of justice. Dillon must keep a lynch mob at bay while untangling conflicting accusations in this tense early drama of murder, due process, and frontier law.
