In this episode of Good Sex @ NYU, Danielle Elleman talks with Anel Flores, a writer, visual artist, educator, and cultural organizer whose work centers queer liberation, ancestral healing, storytelling, and community.
Anel shares how embracing her queer identity led her to reconnect with her Chicana and border culture, create new forms of belonging, and use art to explore ancestral wounds.
Drawing from her books Empanada and Curtains of Rain, she explores how intimacy can extend beyond romance and sex to include food, land, friendship, chosen family, and queer community.
Danielle and Anel also reflect on pleasure, vulnerability, grief, joy, failure, and the stories we carry.
