Master of sci-fi Dan Smith delivers an action-packed thriller as secret organisation The Night House exposes the bloodcurdling truth of what lurks inside Dr Kilgore’s House of Horrors.

Deep in the Texan desert, the Slade family’s trip of a lifetime takes a terrifying turn when their car crashes on the highway. Stranded and alone, they’re picked up by passing trucker Sam, who leads them to a long-abandoned ghost town, Coyote Creek.

There the family are forced to enter Dr Kilgore’s House of Horrors, a nightmarish maze filled with sinister, all-too lifelike waxworks and bone-chilling secrets.

Will they find a way to escape or will they become the latest victims of the horrors that await?

"All I will say is that this is a fantastic addition to the series, and is a must read for any with the guts to do so." — Kit Butler
"Master of creepy sci-fi, Dan Smith, returns with the third book of his super-charged, supernatural Night House Files series … full of thrills, chills and some seriously scary science … this fast-paced, bone-chilling adventure will hook in readers from the first page… and is best read in daylight hours!" — Lancashire Post
"Please genuinely be prepared to be SCARED." — Independent Book Reviews
"A teen book version of X-files which I am all for. Brilliantly creepy and weird." — Norfolk Children's Books Centre bookseller
"Set out like a file with chapters these books are perfect for fans of things like X-Files, Goosebumps and other spooky media." — Waterstones Lakeside bookseller
"Truly terrifying… in the best possible way! … my dreams were haunted by this Wrong Turn meets House of Wax style story … Dan is our horror king and as always, nothing is quite what it seemed … The House of Horrors is one of my favourite reads this year: the unnerving atmosphere and sophisticated storytelling make this an unforgettable read and one which will stop you sleeping…" — Check 'Em Out Books, blog
"These stories are not for the faint-hearted. Disturbing details, rising tension and horrifying characters mean readers can’t put these books down, even if they’re terrified of what they might find on the next page … Deliciously scary, this is a book to read with the lights on – but if you really want to lose yourself in it, choose a windy night, dim the lights and watch out for movement in the shadows!" — Scope for Imagination, blog
