Über diesen Titel
All for One Love, War, & Ghosts is coming-of-age suspense with a romantic triangle and themes that linger. It's a tale of friendship, love, and youthful decisions that drive friends apart for decades. Life is good for Cathy and her husband. Hes about to retire and enjoy the summer with their grandkidsThen the ghosts of Vietnam shove their way into the present. Cathy thinks its his PTSD coming back but the threat is real. Vietnam Veterans of America Books in Review, by Laura Kalpakian: Henry, Rob, Dave, tomboy Janet, and pretty Cathy style themselves The Musketeers (All for One). Beyond childhood, they take part in high school hijinks and high spirits, pranks, and proms. They graduate and suddenly life gets serious All for One is at heart a mystery involving the former Musketeers and their small town peopled with bankers, mechanics, sheriffs, and nosy Nellies who pop in with their proverbial two cents. The reader knows more than any of the characters, who often are in peril and somewhat clueless. The anguish of the Vietnam War and choices made long ago reverberate in the choices the characters make in the present as they move toward the future. Selected for the Spring Reading Guide in The Strand Magazine. Andrew Gulli, managing editor: "I truly loved it. Its thoughtful, layered, and emotionally intelligent in a way that really stays with you. The tension works beautifully alongside the deeper themes its exactly the kind of novel our readers respond to. Publisher's Weekly reviewer for the BookLife Prize: "All For One: Love, War, & Ghosts opens like a YA coming-of-age story, showing the three boys bonding in the carefree years of their youth. Their youth ends when Henrys draft number guarantees his conscription for military service during the Vietnam War. Following the pact of childhood loyalty, the Musketeers enlist togetherthe second part of the story explores the results of those events 50 years later."
