Schwaches Star Wars

Der Versuch, die alten Filme mit den neuen über Romane zu verbinden ist löblich, aber was Aftermath hier liefert, wirkt einfach gezwungen.
Die übliche Mutter-sucht-verschollenen-Sohn inklusive Beziehungskonflikt ist weder besonders spannend noch Mitgefühl heischend. Die Wexleys sind nicht sympathisch. Das gilt auch für den Rest der Protagonisten. Sloane gibt einen Admiral Daala Abklatsch, die restlichen Moffs entspringen fast exakt der dritten New Jedi Order Geschichte. Einzig der Imperiale Loyalitätsoffizier wirkt spannend, enttäuscht dann aber als Disneys neues Vorschiff für angepasste Sexualität. Die restlichen Figuren verlieren sich in Belanglosigkeit.
Disney scheint fast verzweifelt die alten Charaktere auszulöschen wollen. Wedge, der beste Star Wars Kampfpilot verkommt hier zu einem ewig geschundenen getretenen Opfer.

Letztlich liefert Aftermath gezwungene langatmigen Füllkodt ohne wirklich interessante Protagonisten. Für mich ein Fehlkauf

Good production, but confused story

I liked the idea of the deminishing empire, but this scene hopping was way too much. Too many characters as well and at least three times main characters returned from certain death. In the core a solid Star Wars story, but everything around it was too much of everything. Less would have been more.

Nice one, letzter zeit schreibe ich oft vom besten Buch bisher, aber es passiert mir immer wieder.

Ok but noting special and a bit confused

Let me first say that this cant compare to the other Star Wars audiobooks i finnished. What really irritated me are the interludes that dont really tie into the ongoing story, together with the many pov switches that makes the whole thing rather confusing, this trend goes on into the other books of this series as well.
The characters are a bit shallow, so is the story telling. I usually dont really see most twists coming in storys or at least not in the way i anticipated them, here you can see every twist coming a mile away with pretty much no efford.
This is what i would expect from an audiobook version of the new trilogy, sadly i have already gotten all 3 parts of the series, since the other SW audiobooks where worth every cent so far.

Horrendous

I had to restart the book after a few chapters because I was lost - too many names, too little character development and, the worst of all, the story kept jumping all over the place. The interludes were pieces completely unrelated to anything just confusing me more. Was this piece important? Did I have to remember these names, places?

i really wanted to like this book and the aftermath series to find out how the Empire ended with Jakku. But I just couldn't care about any of these characters. I doubt I'll buy the other two books. A waste of money, a waste of time. I wish I could get my money back from this book.

You're much better off with the Thrawn series.

Leider ist die Story sehr dünn und die Handlung auch extrem vorhersehbar. Spannend geht anders.
