Persephone is the Goddess of Spring by title only. The truth is, since she was a little girl, flowers have shriveled at her touch. After moving to New Athens, she hopes to lead an unassuming life disguised as a mortal journalist.

Hades, God of the Dead, has built a gambling empire in the mortal world and his favorite bets are rumored to be impossible.

After a chance encounter with Hades, Persephone finds herself in a contract with the God of the Dead and the terms are impossible: Persephone must create life in the Underworld or lose her freedom forever.

There is very little understanding of how journalism and gardening actually work, but it is otherwise an enjoyable re-telling of the ancient Greek myth. Considering to buy the sequel!

The narration is super good. Voices sound unique and Meg Sylvan doesn't shy away to raise her voice and our her emotions into it when breathing live into the lines.

Smashing Narator! Other then that : This book was quite dissapointing. The FMC is annoying with little to no depth. If it wasn't for the spice I'ld have called it a YA Book. So, if you like these kind of books, by all means give it a go ... I might try the POV from Hades for the next one but I might also give up on the series entirely... the judges are still out.

Nicht sehr originell, aber schön ausgeführt. Erinnert stark an Sarah J. Maas Bücher, gefällt mir aber sogar besser. Auf jeden Fall eine gute Unterhaltung.

Ich fand die Story gut erzählt und die Sexszenen sind spicy. Nicht überzogen, man konnte der Charakter-Entwicklung gut folgen. 👌🏻 Erster Band: Sehr gut!

The story is ok and I read this for a challenge (prompt: a retelling), but I’m not really invested in the characters and while everything about this book is ok, it’s just not for me.

Overall I did like the book. The storyline was really catchy which I really liked about it. The perspective was a bit confusing at first but I got into it pretty well. The spice wasn’t really good in my opinion but I think it’s just because I’m used to the spice from hunting Adeline… You can’t really compare these tropes but I missed the kinkiness and the vibe that other books are giving me… but ngl it was a good book nevertheless and I’m happy I read/listened to it

I think its a fun idea to use mythology as a base for the story. I was a bit surprised by how much spice there is.

well it's easy, if youre not looking for plot, slow burning romance or adventure its a great book.
Personally I think its a nice and hot spicy read/listen. But we're not given paticulary many reasons why Persephone is so into Hades except for his good looks. It all happens quite fast... in the end the story gets a bit more interesting. Just know what you're in for and you won't be disapointed since the Audio is phenomenal.
I'm not going to listen to the next one however since it is a very boring and flat story.
