I was surprised by the descriptive power of the language... The book is wonderfully written and nicely read. I am sorry, I did not buy the full version.

A wondeful, descriptive book about the lives of 2 women in Afghanistan. MariamŽs life, so simple , her marriage to the, at first , good husband who becomes more and more bitter that she cannot provide him with his much wanted son.Leila a beautiful young girl whose life is struct by tragedy in the war and who, she thinks has lost everything.Rashid marries her, much to MariamŽs horror.It is so beautiful to see the relationship between Mariam and Leila develop,to a deep love , which almost makes up for RashidŽs cruelty.The reading of this wonderful book is so well done. The accents, the feeling and emotions that come through make it really special.Even after reading both booksby Khaled Hosseini, I was enthralled with the audio book. A very worthwhile buy.
