The above is the basic summary of all three first audiobooks included in this set. I was sceptical to begin with, but decided to take a chance on it after reading only glowing reviews on amazon. I wonder who wrote these, because they're definitely not true. The characters are not "realistically written out", there isn't even time for that since the stories are so short. The characters do not differ greatly from each other. And they DEFINITELY do not react realistically, or different from each other. I think the basic problem here is that they're too short to convey the worlshifting news the characters are given in them. I did not like the first three stories much at all and was pretty exasperated by the time the last one started.
The last story has the only responsible shifter character in the whole set and is the one with the most realistic reactions and the most real-sounding relationship building. It's also the only reason I gave this box set three stars. It by itself would have had four, because it is cute and does make sense, it's just a little too shallow to be five-star-worthy (again, due to the short lenght of the story).
The reader got five stars because he did an amzing job trying to convey emotions where there were few in the text, and I enjoyed his reading style a lot. Would love to hear more from him (possibly stories with more depth to them, though).
Overall, sadly this left me pretty disappointed. The last story and the reader were good, though.
