Lara has only one thought when her husband is taken prisoner: I will do whatever it takes to set you free.
A queen now in exile as a traitor, Lara has watched Ithicana be conquered by her own father, helpless to do anything to stop the destruction. But when she learns her husband, Aren, has been captured in battle, Lara knows there is only one reason her father is keeping him alive: as bait for his traitorous daughter.
And it is bait she fully intends to take.
Risking her life to the Tempest Seas, Lara returns to Ithicana with a plan not only to free its king, but for liberating the Bridge Kingdom from her father’s clutches using his own weapons: the sisters whose lives she spared.
But as Lara and her companions formulate a plan to free Aren from her father’s palace, they soon discover that while it is easy to get in, it will be quite another thing to get Aren, and themselves, back out. Not only is the palace inescapable, there are more players in the game than Lara ever realized, enemies and allies switching sides in the fight for crowns, kingdoms, and bridges. But her greatest adversary of all might be the very man she’s trying to free - the husband she betrayed.
With everything she loves in jeopardy, Lara must decide who - and what - she is fighting for: her kingdom, her husband, or for herself.

noce ending to the story
nicely written, good ending. enjoyed it alot, this was a nice audiobook series that was suggested to me via the audible algorithm and i am glad i listened to it

Good listen
Danielle L Jensen really keeps the story plottwists going in this book! it's hard to guess what will happen next and what the characters will do. and the narrowator is doing a great job as well.

If you love fantasy + love story , this is for you
Loved the storyline as well as the depth of the individual characters. Had me crying several times! Loved book 1 + 2 ! ❤️

Finally they get into fighting for what they want
Since I was not so invested in the first book I liked this one even better.
Useless Lara can't do anything by herself so she's getting her sisters for help... Still not what I expected. The sisters are very lovely side characters and some more my ideal of a fighter princess.
But Aren gets into planing his escape and Iove his interactions with the his "enemies" and the intriguing dialogs.
But the second half of this book finally showed a fighting Lara and a mischievous clever Aren. I enjoyed that very much.
And I listened book 3 halfway by now, it's maybe my favorite in the series.

Solid YA Story

Atemberaubendes Buch
Wunderschön wie die Gefühle füreinander ausgedrückt werden, die Gleichberechtigung. Aber das Buchcover, also da hätte msn sich wirklich mehr Mühe geben können.

Diese Geschichte würd ich wieder hören
spannend, herzzerreißend, dann wieder Situationskomisch und erotisch. Klare Empfehlung meinerseits :) es wird bestimmt nicht bei einmal hören bleiben :)

Good, but...
The story is well written, and comes with nices suprises and turns. The characters' emotional struggles are described in vivid details and utterly believable. Also the narrators do an excellent job bringing these emotions to life and draw the listeners into the story.
Unfortunatley, in order to supply a nice twist to the story the author sacrifices character credibility and creates a 'seriously?" moment almost breaking the story, at least for me.

This book delivers the whole way through
It's a gripping read from beginning to end filled with tons of amazing world building. The ending took me totally by surprise. The speakers act out the dialogue very well, especially Lara's voice.

Amazing as the first book
**Mild spoiler following**
If you have not read the first book - do it now. I am a huge fan of both. Traitor queen is just as amazing as the prior book and we get hour deserved epic love story ending. Some questions are left open but no worries the next book is catching up fast.
