Overall better than the first
I think that book two of this series was definitely more interesting from its lore and background than the initial setup of the first book… I know that was probably necessary due to the lead-up to the Indomitus Crusade. I enjoyed the characterisation far more in this one than the last, characters such as General Dvorgon and Shield-Captain Acolor somehow felt more human to me than in previous BL books I’ve read involving Guard and Custodes. Overall I would give the book 4 stars on an entertaining plot and 5 overall as a very solid sequel in the series

"The Emperor´s Holy Shit!"
Worth reading for that one scene alone where the above quote happens. And a great book beyond that as well.

A great story with a great speaker
Thank the emperor that Guilliman has a normal voice again compared to part 1. The story is interesting and John Banks gives a great performance.

Its an okay story.. but nothing wild or new here.
Its an okay story.. but nothing wild or new here. At times it was even a bit boring to listen to.
no new lore. no new insights. just a battlestory. so if thats your thing, go for it. but if you arent sure if you should buy it, then dont
