One of the best!

I read the webnovel when it was first realesed a few years ago and it is still my favorite progressive fantasy novel by far. I am super glad i can finally buy a copy of the books. The magic system and world building are amazing. The character development, not to mention the power progression, of the main character are super satisfying. I had a lot of fun and cannot recommend it enough.

Way to stretch

The first book is way to full of unimportant stuff. I enjoyed „the perfect run“ much more.

Beautiful Story

I followed this story in the web ever since it was released on royal road and fiction press.
It's one of my all-time-favourites for world building, interestingly fleshed out characters, a fantastic plot that builds upon itself and all the details that are constantly added with every chapter without ever feeling klunky or out of place, filling an original world with live without the reader ever noticing any inconsistencies. The progression feels natural.
Can't wait to hear the next Arc spoken by you.
For any potential listeners: Don't wait. Just listen in and be charmed by an introverted boy, slowly opening up to the world around him as he finds his way around school live, teenager Problems, magical phenomena, a looming catastrophy constantly holding him on edge and, as promised by the title, his ever growing willingness to learn new and fascinating magic as well as social and other skills to grow up to the challenges his more then special circumstances have in store for him.

I liked it

I liked listening to the book. The story is interesting and kept me entertained until the end. I did have some trouble with the slow-acting and overly cautious main character. The narrator did a good job with the protagonist's voice but (in my opinion) messed up with the female characters by giving them strange accents on top of squealing voices thereby making them unpleasant to listen to.
Would I recommend this book? Probably..? I liked it enough but the whole thing is really slow going. Sometimes I had the impression that the protagonist didn't care about his circumstances (I mean he knows what is coming but always manages to be surprised by something) and just enjoyed learning different things - certainly useful but unrelated to the problem at that specific time. That said, the book is well written and the character growth is nicely done as well. If you like a protagonist who thinks twice before jumping into any situation this book is for you. If you like a proactive protagonist, one who faces danger instead of running from it or avoiding it altogether, you will have difficulties. This book is not action-packed.
Would I read or listen to a sequel? Yes. All the build-up and the many cool things the main character learned promise a fantastic future ride!

slow starting but like an avalanche

it starts slow and kirielle is a bit annoying when waking him but when it gets going it only pics up speed and oomph

Erste 3 Kapitel anstrengend aber nötig, dann super

Die ersten drei Kapitel sind ziemlich anstrengend, da der MC ein echter Teenager ist, aber danach wird es ein echt super spannendes Hörbuch. Ich verstehe allerdings, warum der Autor diese Kapitel so gestaltet hat, da dadurch der Schock und die Veränderung des MC erst richtig deutlich wird.

Allgemein kann man auch sagen, dass die Charaktere sehr realistisch gestaltet sind und man kann auch immer nachvollziehen, warum sie so reagieren, wie sie es tun.
Die eigentliche Stärke des Buches ist allerdings die Time-loop Mechanik. Hier wurde sehr gut damit gearbeitet in den verschiedenen Wiederholungen neue Bereiche der Welt zu erkunden und andere Perspektiven zu entdecken (da man ja weiß, was im groben passieren wird). Es hat sich oft so angefühlt, als ob man ein gut designtes Time-loop Game spielt. Besonders mit dem Pacing war ich sehr zufrieden.

Ich hatte sehr viel Spaß mit dem Hörbuch und kann es nur weiterempfehlen!

Great story, narrator overdoing it a bit

I liked the story very much. However, I nearly stopped the book early because of the narrator. I became somewhat used to it over time

Überraschend

Bin eigentlich kein Fantasy Leser und komme eher aus der hard Sci Fi Ecke. Bin aufgrund des time travel plots hier gelandet. Werde jetzt verstärkt in dieses Genre einsteigen
