I grew up in verdant New Hampshire, USA, but after graduating from the University of New Hampshire over 30 years ago moved to sultry Houston, Texas. Recently I earned my master’s in counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria. Unashamedly a tree-hugger, I feel a great responsibility to be a voice for future generations so they too may enjoy the beauty of nature. When not writing, I’m into self-punishment, as evident by twenty-two years of teaching middle school students, running multiple marathons, and now training on the hot Texas trails for my first ultra-marathon. Tim Hemlin is the author of six novels, the latest of which is the clifi-dystopian The Wastelanders. He is currently re-releasing The Neil Marshall mysteries, who-done-its set in Houston, Texas. The first two, If Wishes Were Horses, and A Whisper of Rage (nominated for a Shamus Award), are currently available for the FIRST time in e-book as well as print. People in Glass Houses, A Catered Christmas and Dead Man’s Broth are scheduled to release later on this year. He has also published short works of fiction, most prominently in Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine and is represented by Kimberley Cameron of Kimberley Cameron & Associates literary agency. Currently he is working on a young adult urban fantasy that has taken on a life of its own. When he’s not writing, he teaches secondary English, reads anything he can get his hands on, and runs marathons.
