Michelle S. Daniel is an award-winning screenwriter and novelist. She was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to a diverse family of engineers, diplomats, and playwrights but grew up in Annapolis, Maryland a stone's throw away from the Naval Academy. In her early teens, she relocated to the southwest where she eventually attended the University of Texas at Austin to study piano performance and jazz composition. She worked on a wide range of musical projects, including her own 24-piece Latin big band, and received a Grammy nomination for her work on a Tejano album. She now enjoys putting millions of words to the page. Her screenplays have garnered numerous film festival awards including the Barcelona International Film Festival (Grand Jury Prize), Austin Film Festival, California Film Awards, Script Pipeline (Top 20 Finalist), StoryPros Awards (Grand Prize Winner), Beverly Hills Screenplay Competition, and more. She attributes her successes (and failures) to her wonderfully patient and intelligent husband and three beautiful kids.
