***WINNER OF THE 2024 AUDIE AWARD FOR AUDIOBOOK OF THE YEAR***

Bono—artist, activist, and the lead singer of Irish rock band U2—has written a memoir: honest and irreverent, intimate and profound, Surrender is the story of the remarkable life he’s lived, the challenges he’s faced, and the friends and family who have shaped and sustained him.

Narrated by the author, Surrender is an intimate, immersive listening experience, telling stories from Bono’s early days in Dublin, to joining a band and playing sold out stadiums around the world with U2, plus his more than 20 years of activism.

Throughout a remarkable life, music has always been a constant for Bono and in the audiobook, his distinctive voice is interwoven with a very personal soundtrack adding atmosphere and texture to each and every scene. From moments of classic U2 hits to snippets by The Clash, Patti Smith, Verdi, Johnny Cash and Mozart, Surrender also exclusively features clips of newly recorded reimagined versions of U2 songs including ‘Sunday Bloody Sunday’, ‘With Or Without You’, ‘One’, ‘Beautiful Day’ and more, glimpsed for the first time on Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story. I started the audiobook of Bono’s autobiography in the beginning of 23. What a great start of a new year! And what an audiobook! Bono is a born storyteller and reads the book himself, with excitement, wonder, charm. Next to the fact that listeners get transported into his childhood in Dublin and his life, the story is enriched by music and sounds, which makes this audiobook a one of a kind acoustic treat. I am listening to lots of audiobooks while running, esp autobiography. And even though I am not a hard core U2 fan, this audiobook swept me away. Highly highly highly recommend!

Wow. What gift.

Loved this so much. I feel like I spent 20 hours in a cafe with bono, him telling me his story. I am amazed. Humbled. Inspired. Thank you bono!

The bottom line: perfectly imperfect. That speaks to human nature as I understand it.

Bono has such a great storytelling voice - i loved also the way he let me take a peek into these famous people like Frank Sinatra , Prince or Neslon Mandela . Great storyteller - sometimes very poetic and very respectful of everyone. Really enjoyed the music and it brought my youth back a little. Would listen to it again !

Reliving my youth , great insights into famous people and wonderful voice
