The Qur'an is the sacred text of the Muslim religion, also known as the scripture of Muslims and therefore of those who practice Islam. It is the oldest known literary work in Arabic. The Qur'an gathers together the words of Allah ("God"), the revelations (or "Aya") he made to the world through the intermediary of the prophet and messenger Mohammed (Muhammad) until his death in 632. This message corresponds to what man cannot learn on his own, nor discover by his own means: it answers existential questions rather than the physical laws of the universe.

Born in the Old City of Sana’a, Yemen, to a pair of middle-class doctors, Mohammed Al Samawi was a devout Muslim raised to think of Christians and Jews as his enemy. But when Mohammed was 23, he secretly received a copy of the Bible, and what he read cast doubt on everything he’d previously believed. After connecting with Jews and Christians on social media, and at various international interfaith conferences, Mohammed became an activist, making it his mission to promote dialogue and cooperation in Yemen. The Prophet Muhammad is a hero for all mankind. In his lifetime he established a new religion, Islam; a new state, the first united Arabia; and a new literary language, the classical Arabic of the Qur'an, for the Qur'an is believed to be the word of God revealed to Muhammad by the angel Gabriel. A generation after his death he would be acknowledged as the founder of a world empire and a new civilisation. Any one of these achievements would have been more than enough to permanently establish his genius.
