Zalia Taori is well equipped for life in the remote forest valley she calls home. Zalia wakes to find herself in a strange, new hellscape called Cormaine. Though this place offers a brief respite from the politics of Endaria, it's a dark land of twisted, leafless trees, mournful cries, and a looming red sky where far more concerning things than politics are to be found. With her mischievous companion, the mountain leopard Boreal, Zalia must hide from the souls floating aimlessly across the firmament and find food before she starves.

Having survived against goblins and the undead, Dirt and Socks are striking out on their own, leaving forest and den behind. Their spirits are high, but the reason for the journey is serious: Socks is being hunted by a mysterious entity called the Devourer, and it'll catch them if they stay in one place too long. To complicate matters, they finally encounter some real, live humans: a small group of adventurers wandering the wilds in search of a lost city in hopes of saving their people. Because it turns out humanity is on the brink of extinction.

Phil's plane plunges into the Irish Sea but instead of drowning, a portal propels him and a bunch of survivors to a new world, where they become the hunted. Fortunately, Phil never backs out of a fight. Perhaps that’s why Fate chooses him and converts him into a Druid. He worries about rescuing his fellow survivors and taking the fight to the monsters, goblins and orcs who keep coming for them. When he finds out who’s behind the attacks, he vows a merciless revenge.

Phil has grown into a powerful Druid and Custodian, and the small, growing settlement of Harper’s Jetty is struggling to contain him. He’s getting noticed, both in the magical plane and then real world, and when you get noticed, politics follows.

Phil’s found ten survivors, but two more were dead. He is desperate to search for more and find his true love, but he’s getting distracted. Halliman is filling him with its vitality, and the girls are all eager to help him in any way possible. With Jim and Liz holding the fort, he and Mogs venture back to the Shadowcrawler’s nest.
