  • Nomadic Massive - The Vocalist Magazine Interview

    Nomadic Massive raps and sings in English, French, Creole, Spanish and Arabic. This Montreal based multilingual crew has always pushed its message past all borders. Since its inception in 2004, the collective has had the opportunity to share the stage with top notch artists all around the world, providing an action-packed show, where the crowd is an integral part of the concert.

    The crew has several recordings to its credit, including the Nomad’s Land EP (2005), the Supafam mixtape (2012), a self-titled LP (2013) and their most recent album, The Big Band Theory (2016) on the Coop Les Faux Monnayeurs label. All records were well received amongst fans and critics as they await the new EP that is currently in the works.

    NOMADIC MASSIVE is an incredible stage behemoth that has seen a fascinating evolution since its inception. With performances around the globe ranging from the International Montreal Jazz Festival to the Rudolstadt TFF Festival in Germany, by way of the Festival International de Louisiane and the Grand Performances in Los Angeles, the group has made its mark as an essential Canadian band. The collective delivers an unbounded hip-hop that skilfully combines live instrumentation with sampling and a wide range of flows.

    KALMUNITY is Canada’s largest & longest running improv collective best known for producing multiple weekly concerts.

    The collective is a diverse group of globe-trotting creatives whose landmark events have been listed among 5 of the best places to take out of towners and The Top 10 Cool Things in Montreal.

    Kalmunity has been featured at a plethora of events alongside acts like Public Enemy, Fred Wesley & The JBs, Staceyann Chin & Brother Ali.

    In 2018 Kalmunity founded Canada's 1st & only annual black art & music week, eponymously named, which has hosted acts such as Smif-N-Wessun, Sa-Roc, Mumu Fresh, Larnell Lewis & Yaadcore.

    Kalmunity's onstage collaborations include Lady Alma, Iba Mahr, Dwayne Morgan, Ethnic Heritage Ensemble, Micah Shemiah, Shi Wisdom, Rich Brown & Maestro Fresh Wes.

    Since 2003 Kalmunity has served as cultural arts ambassadors who offer creative workshops in schools, community centers & prisons across Canada & continue to cultivate safe spaces of free expression for marginalized voices
