In Episode 20 of You’ll Never Pod Alone, we revisit one of the most confusing and emotionally draining seasons in Liverpool’s Premier League history — a year that delivered silverware, Wembley drama, and deep frustration in equal measure.Under the returning Kenny Dalglish, Liverpool spent big and played expansive football, dominating matches but repeatedly failing to convert chances. Despite creating opportunity after opportunity, the Reds struggled badly in front of goal, leading to an alarming number of draws and a disappointing 8th-place league finish.Cup competitions, however, told a very different story. Liverpool enjoyed a thrilling run to three Wembley appearances, lifting the League Cup after a dramatic penalty shootout win over Cardiff City and reaching the FA Cup Final, where late hope against Chelsea ultimately ended in heartbreak. The season was also shaped by controversy, particularly surrounding Luis Suárez, whose brilliance on the pitch was matched by turbulence off it. Players like Craig Bellamy and Steven Gerrard played key roles, while new signings showed flashes without ever truly clicking.Episode 20 explores how Liverpool could be both cup winners and league underachievers at the same time — and how, just days after the FA Cup Final defeat, Dalglish’s second spell as manager came to an abrupt end.A season of triumph and turmoil.A trophy that mattered — and a league campaign that didn’t.A turning point between nostalgia and the modern Liverpool era.🎧 Relive the highs, the heartbreak, and the hard decisions

    Episode 19 – 2010–11: Rock Bottom… Then Rebirth
Episode 19 of You’ll Never Pod Alone tells the story of one of the most turbulent seasons in Liverpool’s history — a campaign that took the club to the brink before finally offering a glimpse of hope.
The 2010–11 season began in chaos. Roy Hodgson’s appointment failed to inspire, performances collapsed, and Liverpool found themselves shockingly close to the relegation zone. Defeats at Anfield to Blackpool and Wolves summed up a club that looked lost both on and off the pitch.
Behind the scenes, the situation was even worse. The financial crisis under Hicks and Gillett pushed Liverpool to the edge of administration, threatening the club’s very future.
    Then everything changed.
New owners Fenway Sports Group arrived, Roy Hodgson was dismissed, and Kenny Dalglish returned to Anfield. The mood lifted instantly, belief returned, and results began to improve.
January brought another turning point. Fernando Torres departed, but in came Luis Suárez and Andy Carroll, signalling the start of a new era. Suárez, in particular, electrified Liverpool, injecting creativity, menace, and excitement back into the team.
From relegation fears to a 6th-place finish, Episode 19 charts Liverpool’s fall and revival — a season remembered not for trophies, but for survival, renewal, and the moment the club found its soul again.
Because even at their lowest ebb…
    You’ll Never Pod Alone.
