Über diesen Titel
Skin tags, also known as acrochordons, are small, soft, skin-colored growths that are usually benign. They can range in size from 2 mm to 5 cm, and are made of collagen and blood vessels surrounded by skin. Skin tags often grow where skin rubs together, such as on the neck, armpit, groin, anus, thighs, eyelids, or under the breasts. They may be the same color as your skin or darker, and some are pink. Others turn red when irritated.
Skin tags are common, with estimates that 50–60% of adults will develop at least one skin tag in their lifetime. The probability of developing skin tags increases after the age of 40, and they are more common in obese people.
Skin tags don't cause any harm, but if a skin tag is bothering you, you can talk to your doctor about having it removed.
- Tea tree oil: Dilute tea tree oil in a carrier oil, wash the area, and then gently massage the oil over the skin tag with a Q-tip or cotton swab. Place a bandage over the area overnight, and repeat this treatment for several nights until the tag dries out and falls off.
- You should only cut or clip off a skin tag with the approval of a healthcare professional, and cleanse the skin and the tool thoroughly to prevent infection.
- Steps you can take to prevent future skin tags include: Maintaining a healthy weight, Getting regular exercise, and Avoiding jewelry and clothing that may rub against your skin.
