Über diesen Titel

For today’s show, we are excited to introduce Allie Businger, one of our Headstream fellows who has been working on a project that explores vulnerable connection. Our conversation with Allie looks at how becoming healthy social creatures that are building vulnerable connection with one another has the power to build a more equitable society, and the role digital spaces can play in this. We begin by hearing Allie’s conception of well-being, looking at youth well-being and the ability social media has to both help and hinder it. We consider our ability to shape this social media landscape, and the potential this gives us to transform society due to the powerfully influential role it plays. For Allie and all of us, vulnerability is the key to connection and Allie does a great job of explaining some of the challenges all of us face expressing it. This leads us to discuss the project Allie has been working on for her fellowship with Headstream, a mental health toolkit that helps people be more vulnerable with themselves to more deeply connect with others. Turning to the topic of social media once more, we imagine how it can provide safer spaces for youth to go in moments of vulnerability where they feel supported rather than shunned, and the power this has to create new norms. Tune in for all this and a beautiful final exchange about how Allie and our hosts practice vulnerability and gratitude in their own lives!
