 Welcome to Truth or Hype: PTs Reading Beyond the Abstract. We are Drs. Derek Liuzzo and Max Jordon: two assistant professors of physical therapy. Dr. Liuzzo specializes in geriatrics and neurological rehabilitation while Dr. Jordon focuses on orthopedics and pain research. This series is geared towards understanding the new research involving all rehabilitation specialities. We aim to see if the abstract is really telling the whole story, what the article actually says, how to translate this into clinical practice, and what the statistics mean. We will have three types of episodes: 1.) Diving into research, 2.) Statistical pearls, and 3.) Actual discussions with the authors.
